Google Pixel 9a Specs Leaked: Here’s What We Now Know

Specs for Google’s upcoming Pixel 9a just leaked, and it has some big upgrades compared to the last model, Pixel 8a (shown above). The information is reportedly obtained from wireless carrier sources, as reported by Android Headlines.
The report says the Pixel 9a will have a Google Tensor G4 with Titan M2 security chip, 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, and either 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone’s 6.285-inch Actua Display will offer a peak brightness of 2,700 nits—easily flagship-level—and will be protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
Around back, the main camera has a 48MP GN8 Quad Dual Pixel (f/1.7) sensor, with an additional ultrawide 13MP Sony IMX712 (f/2.2) camera. The front holds a 13MP Sony IMX712 selfie camera.
The device now has a solid 5,100mAh battery, 13% more than the Pixel 8a. Charging speeds are 23W wired and 7.5W wireless, now with Qi2 support. Plus, it’s got an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The Pixel 9a is reportedly slightly larger than its predecessor, at 6.1 by 2.9 by 0.35 inches (154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm), but lighter than the Pixel 8a at 6.55 ounces (185.9 grams).
Available colors will include Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony, matching the standard Pixel 9 lineup. Finally, the pricing stays the same: $499 for the 128GB model and $549 for the Verizon mmWave 5G version.
Overall, the Pixel 9a will have improved processing, battery, and display quality, especially brightness, and its price point remains the same as Pixel 8a. Google is expected to release the Pixel 9a early in 2025.
